NAIOP invites you to submit a presentation proposal for the Development ’13 conference. NAIOP’s annual Development conference is the industry’s top event for connecting with developers, owners and investors in commercial real estate. NAIOP’s core members — the leaders in office, industrial, retail and mixed-use real estate — come together annually to share ideas, gather knowledge and make deals.
Submission deadline for consideration for the Development ’13 conference is Wednesday, December 5, 2012. Submit your session proposal using this form.
Please review the Development ’12 conference program to find examples of the topics and sessions previously presented. Scroll to the bottom to see a list of potential topics that have been suggested by previous conference attendees. Please note that conference topics must be relevant to NAIOP members and/or the commercial real estate industry and be 45-60 minutes in length.
The Evaluation Process
Members of the Conference Planning Committee evaluate all proposed sessions based on the following criteria: overall quality, relevance to the industry, well-defined focus, practical applications of material, timeliness of the topic, and speaker qualifications. Priority will be given to NAIOP members and corporate sponsors, in the event of duplicate topics being submitted.
To be considered as a speaker, your session must be educational in nature — that is, sales presentations will not be accepted. In addition, your material should be original; otherwise, sources must be referenced.
The final session selections and notifications will be made by the end of January 2013. You will be notified only if your submission is selected. Failure to comply with all instructions will disqualify the submission from consideration.
Session Guidelines
Sessions should be 45 minutes to 1 hour in length, including a question and answer segment. Sessions should not consist of more than four speakers, including the moderator.
Speaker Benefits
All speakers are volunteers responsible for own travel, hotel and incidentals. NAIOP appreciates each speaker for his/her willingness to donate their time to give back to the industry. All session speakers receive a complimentary full conference registration.
Each speaker must be able to provide an informative, interactive, stimulating, non-sales presentation geared towards the commercial real estate developer.
Speakers are acknowledged in all marketing materials, including the conference brochure, website, signage and onsite materials.
